How It Works

The beauty industry has found a way to use LED lights in skin-tech after NASA originally developed them for plant growth experiments in space - of which they have shown promising results in wound healing and human tissue growth. Different wavelengths of light in LED lights, including blue, amber and red, penetrate the skin at different depths. This penetration triggers biological processes that help the skin rejuvenate and heal.

Our Glowd LED Face Mask is designed to emit LED lights in the visible and invisible spectra (wavelengths around 460 nm-630 nm) the same as 'in salon treatments' for a fraction of the cost.

The versatility of the LED Therapy Mask works by exposing the skin to 3 proven wavelengths of light, delivered at a safe therapeutic dose, to combat visible signs of aging, hyperpigmentation, minimize scarring, killing acne bacteria, and more. All while leaving your skin soft and smooth. Bring salon technology to the comfort of your own home and experience the Glowd LED Mask work miracles on your skin.

*Proven to help treat common skin conditions: acne, wrinklesrosacea, eczema, regular cuts, hyperpigmentation, regular cuts, abrasions and burns, scars and stretch marks.

The Colors & Their Effects

BLUE LED LIGHT THERAPY targets the sebaceous glands, which are also called oil glands. Sebaceous glands are necessary for lubricating your skin and hair so that it doesn’t dry out. However, these glands can become overactive, leading to oily skin and acne.

Blue LED light therapy can target these oil glands and make them less active. In turn, you may see fewer acne breakouts. Blue light can also kill acne-causing bacteria beneath the skin, which can help treat severe acne pimples, including cysts and nodules. By removing the bacteria, this treatment reduces active acne. Blue LED Light Therapy can be used to improve skin texture and reduce sebaceous hyperplasia or enlarged oil glands.

Oftentimes, Blue LED light is used in conjunction with Red LED light to help treat acne, decrease scarring & promote anti-inflammatory effects.

RED LED LIGHT THERAPY, or infrared light is used for treating the epidermis, which is the outer layer of skin. When the light is applied to your skin, the epidermis absorbs it and then stimulates collagen proteins.

More collagen means that your skin will look smoother and fuller, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Red LED light is also thought to reduce inflammation while improving circulation, which can give you a healthier glow.

YELLOW LED LIGHT THERAPY is used to improve any hyperpigmentation and also to relieve sensitive skin. It revitalizes skin to bring out the glow as it increases nutrient exchange in the skin cells.

The LED Light also triggers the lymphatic system, improving the removal of toxins from the treated area. Yellow Light Therapy is used to increase wound healing, collagen induction, skin hydration and the overall health of the skin.

Yellow Light Therapy is perfect to use after Cosmetic Injections, Microdermabrasion, Fraction RF or Skin Needling treatments to help speed up skin recovery and maximize the benefits from your treatments.

As a stand-alone treatment, Yellow LED is the perfect skin pick-me-up that will leave your skin looking healthier and radiant. It also works to reduce redness by increasing dermal blood flow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is LED Light Therapy?

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. These lights have been in use since the 1960s, but people have only recently begun to use them as a skin treatment after NASA originally developed LED lights for plant growth experiments in space and have shown promising results in wound healing and human tissue growth. Different wavelengths of light in LED lights, including blue, amber and red, penetrate the skin at different depths. This penetration triggers biological processes that help the skin rejuvenate and heal. LED light therapy is now used by many top aestheticians to help regenerate the skin from aging and to combat acne where the cost of just a single session can range from Php 1,200 - 4,500.

Is this safe? What about my eyes?

Unlike other types of light therapy, LEDs do not contain ultraviolet rays. Therefore, they’re safe for regular use. You don't even have to close your eyes when using this. LED light therapy doesn’t cause burns compared to other anti-aging treatments such as chemical peels, dermabrasion, and laser therapy. It’s safe for all skin colors and types.

Furthermore, LED lights do not harm your retinas. The middle portion of the light shield is clear from the LED light strips. This is to prevent any hindrance on your vision when doing other activities such as reading, walking, cooking and etc. so you can multitask freely.

However, to avoid complications, we don’t recommend LED light therapy for people who are taking Accutane because although side effects are rare, they may include increased inflammation, redness, and rashes for Roaccutane patients. We also discourage people with epilepsy or a photo-allergy or those taking any of the following medications; steroid injections, cortisone injections, medications causing light sensitivity.

How soon can I see results?

Light therapy stimulates your own cells' natural healing and collagen production, so the most visible results are not immediate. The skin can look different after the first treatment; smoother and more hydrated with a natural radiant glow, and with each treatment you will see improvement. Acne scars and scars from other types of injuries can start to improve in as little as two weeks and should gradually fade over time with continued use.

How often can I use this?

It varies from person to person, depending on their age and skin condition. Usually, the best results are achieved over an 8 – 12 week period. It is best to begin with a commitment of 15 minutes, at least 3-5 times per week for the first 1-4 weeks. But you can definitely go as much as 20 minutes everyday for three weeks to see results fast.

Is it painful?

No. The LED Face mask emits gentle, heatless LED light that is painless, non-invasive, and requires no down time.

Can I use skincare products along with this treatment?

Yes, definitely! In fact, your Light Therapy results will be more dramatic if you use high quality skin care products. Moreover, you can use your acne products to further accelerate your skin curing process.

Can I be exposed to sunlight after this treatment?

Yes. LEDs emit no UV light and the treatment does not increase photo-sensitivity. However, we always recommend you use sunscreen every day to protect your skin from damaging UVA and UVB rays.

Can light therapy cause sun burn or skin cancer?

No. Sun burn, and skin cancer are caused by light exposure from UV wavelengths, which the LEDs do not emit.

What if I have tattoos on my face?

The effect of light therapy on tattoos is not yet completely known. We recommend covering any exposed tattoos with a small amount of fabric to protect them from any unforeseen reaction to the light.

Is LED Therapy suitable for everyone?

LED Light Mask treatment may bother you if you have epilepsy or a photo-allergy or are taking any of the following medications; Accutane, steroid injections, cortisone injections, medications causing light sensitivity (such as Tetracycline).

If you've recently had botox, wait two weeks after botox treatment before having LED mask treatments.

Can I immediately apply my makeup?

An LED Face mask requires no downtime and is non-invasive. You can maintain a normal skincare routine and even apply makeup immediately after your using it.

Is this safe for pregnant/lactating women?

LED devices are classified as possessing “non-significant risk”; they are completely safe and possess no possibility of harm from over-exposure. The LEDs emit no UV light, so there is no risk of sunburn or skin cancer. This treatment has no adverse reactions and no down-time.

Since there are no LED light strips along the eye area, will that mean my undereye area will not experience any results?

The nature of LED light is it has a wider spread coverage so there will be some exposure on the undereye area by the LED light strips closest to that area. Just as shining a torchlight on one area also illuminates its surroundings, so shall your undereye area also receive LED treatment. So, yes! There will be skin improvements on the undereye area.

How long is the battery life?

The LED Mask is charged via a Micro USB cable. One full charge takes about 40 minutes and the indicator light switches from Red to Blue. This can power the mask for about 3 consecutive sessions.

How do I change the light colors?

To change the light colours, simply press the power button.

How do I turn off the device?

Simply press and hold for 3 seconds.
